Since the recent ZERONA laser came to the market many people have compared the results and validity of the two procedures. While we’ve found that both Lipo and ZERONA procedures are effective, it is important to outline the differences and results for patients interested in fat loss/body contouring.

Liposuction is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedure in the United States. Liposuction is a surgical technique that improves the body’s contour by removing excess fat from deposits located between the skin and muscle. Liposuction involves the use of a small stainless steel tube, called a cannula. The cannula is connected to a powerful suction pump and inserted into the fat through small incisions in the skin. Fat removal is accomplished as the suction cannula creates tiny tunnels through the fatty layers. After surgery, these tiny tunnels collapse and thus result in an improved body contour. While it is proven to be effective, it also comes with its down sides, mainly in the form of recovery time and cost.

Liposuction is an invasive procedure, so it comes with pain, discomfort, and possible risks. Typical side effects include swelling, bruising, discomfort, minor pain, and reduced mobility. Limited mobility for a few days and back to work in one to two weeks. May take three months after procedure for swelling to subside and fully recover from liposuction. Depending on how many areas you’d like treated, liposuction can range from about 2K – 6K for the procedure.

While liposuction does a good job of removing excess fat often times patients are left with excess skin that will need another procedure for removal. Nevertheless, it does a good job of contouring specific areas on the body.

ZERONA on the other hand is less expensive, non-invasive, risk free, and pain free! The ZERONA lasers are directed to the targeted areas on the body for 40 minute sessions (6 sessions in 2 weeks is common). There will be no pain or recovery time. Many patients have reported to have lost up to 9 inches after the two weeks of treatment.

The cost for the ZERONA procedure ranges from about 2K – 3K. Overall, if you’re scared to go under the knife, and want something easy, effective, and affordable you should look into ZERONA. To learn more about the ZERONA procedure go to www.findzerona.com. If you need to lose many inches of fat in a number of different areas on the body take a look at Liposuction. Otherwise, start eating better and do a lot of sit-ups!
